I first met Paul Ridgeway as we prepared for Super Bowl XXVI in Minnesota. The most pressing issue was traffic, parking and logistics. He had been given that responsibility. The result was one of the most superb efforts in Super Bowl history. Two years later in Atlanta it was evident that the local host committee did not have a workable plan. As the NFL we took over the planning and our first step was to hire Ridgeway. The success achieved there changed the process whereby the NFL and Ridgeway would assume all responsibility for buses, limos, parking, traffic plans, etc for all future games. And the company hired to handle this was Ridgeway. Later when the Pro Bowl in Hawaii needed a makeover for traffic planning Ridgeway was there.
The expertise in coordinating traffic patterns, designing parking lot uses, managing affordable prices for limos, buses and taxis were what most saw, but the ability to make changes on the fly made everything work perfectly.
